Hi, I have been looking at your Cantrell-Hubbersty blog. I am interested in William P Cantrell-Hubbersty as he was the commander of a Remount Depotin the early 1900's. I am researching my family and have a granduncle who was in a Remount Depot between 1901 and 1904 - during 1902 he was disciplined three times by WP Cantrell-Hubbersty. I am trying to find out which of the Army remount depots WP was attached to - would you have any idea? Finding that information would be very useful to me in my research. I note that on the blog you state that William P was not on the family 1901 census return - perhaps he was in the Remount depot and not living at home at that time. I hope you get this and will be able to help me. Thank you. Mary Wall, Dublin Ireland.

I am afraid I can't help too much. All the info is what I have found on-line.

It looks like WP Cantrell-Hubbersty died in a hunting accident in 1947, as did his brother in 1928. WP Cantrell-Hubbersty did eventually show up on the 1901 census under Cantrell-Hubbersby.

A short bit on this link - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quorn_Hunt

Sorry I can't help more.
