There were 64 Hubberstey males listed in the 1911 census. Below I have summarized the census data for each one and then added some additional information, if I have any. For privacy reasons I have not traced too far forward, but if you would like additional information on your line, please just send me an e-mail and I will pass on what I have.
This census even though it was done in 1911 still illustrates the concentration of names for Hubberstey males. Of the 64 (just using first names) we have 6 named James, 13 named John, 6 named Robert, 10 named Thomas, and 7 named William. So 42 of the 64 use just 5 names! The prevalence of these five names is consistent since we started tracing with Robert and Mary at the beginning of the line.
The references to lines relate to the numbering of posts on the main page. Please note that the birth years may be off by one year as they are derived from the ages on the census reports. Also there may be some people who were not counted in the 1911 census.
Aloysius b. 1893, From Line 2B, son of William and Anne Shuttleworth. He was 18 at the time of the census and was listed as a student at the Roman Catholic College in County Durham (also listed as Union Workhouse). He appears to have married in 1942 and then passed away in 1949.
Edgar b. 1888, 23, Flyde. Married Alice Swarbrick in 1921. They had two children, Philip Gerrard (b. 1923) and John Richard (b. 1921). Line 1A-4, 1A, 1
Edward b. 1884, 27, Sheffield. Married Alice Sheppard in 1905. Records for 3 children, Elsie (b. 1908) who married Charles Bird, Henry (b. 1906) who married Mary Fernridge and had 2 daughters, and Rose Alice (b. 1910, d. 1917). There was also a son Edward born to a mother surnamed Johnson in 1913. He is buried at the Sheffield (City Road) Cemetery, died 1919. Son Edward married Gertrude Parkin in 1938. Line 1B-2, 1B, 1.
Frederick Gerrard b.1910, 5 mths, Preston. The son of Robert (b. 1876) and Esther Hannah (Worsley). He married Annie Bamford in 1936 and they had 5 children. Line 1-A1, 1A, 1
Frederick b. 1881, 30, Preston. Married Amy Kenyon. Records for 4 children, Elizabeth (b. 1908), Frederick (b. 1918), Richard (b. 1912), and Amy (b. 1915). Frederick was the son of Richard and Elizabeth (Horn). Line 1B-2, 1B, 1.
Frederick b. 1876, 35, Burnley (birth date probably should be 1874). Son of William and Elizabeth Agnes (Dove). No further information. Line 1A-3, 1A, 1
Henry, b. 1906, 5, Sheffield. Son of Edward (b. 1883) and Alice (Sheppard). Married Mary Fernridge and they had 2 daughters. 1B-2, 1B, 1.
Henry b. 1885, 26, Flyde. Married Elizabeth Alice Eastham in 1909. They had 3 children, 2 daughters and a son. Line 1B-2, 1B, 1.
Henry Francis b. 1877, 34, Prestwich. Married Ann Kelly in 1910. They look to have a daughter, Margaret, in 1916. Line 1B-1, 1B, 1
Hugh b.1894, 17, Flyde. Married Kathleen Harte. They had one child, Hugh (b.1924). Line 1A-4, 1A, 1
Ignatius b. 1873, 38, Preston. Married Susan McNamara in 1895. Ignatius was the son of James and Ellen (Dolphin). Ignatius and Susan had at least 1 child, a son Thomas, born 1897. Ignatius died in 1935. Line 2B, 2.
J(ames), b. 1880, 31, Preston. Son of John (b. 1853) and Mary (Banks). Line 2B, 2. John had married Mary Calderbank in 1907 and by 1911 they had a daughter Alice (b. 1909). John was listed as a labourer at a Cotton Mill and they lived with Mary's mother at 72 Cemetery Road Preston. They went on to have another daughter Mary in 1914 and a son James in 1920.
James b. 1881,30, Blackburn. Son of John and Mary Elizabeth (Grundy). Married Beatrice Duckworth in 1906. Two children, Mary (b. 1910) and John (b. 1912). I have not found any further information on son John, though there is a possible marriage to an Eleanor Birtwhistle in 1925. Line 1A-3, 1A, 1.
James b. 1897, 14, Flyde. Son of James (b. 1861) and Sarah Booth Woods. Married Annie Thurgood in 1920. One child, Diana (Mary) (b. 1922). Line 1A-2, 1A, 1.
James 1909, 2, Preston. Son of Joseph (b. 1872) and Ellen Graham. I have not found any further information on James (though there is one possible marriage). Along with William (b. 1900), James is the the last portion of this line on the male side. Line 2A, 2.
James b. 1903, 8, Preston. Son of John (b. 1862) and Mary Ellen (Gregson). Married Violet Cocker in 1940 and had three children, 2 sons and a daughter. Line 2B, 2.

James b. 1878, 33, Preston. James Thomas was the son of Thomas and Jane (Melling Wright). He died in 1912 in the same year as his brother John Joseph. Line 1B-2, 1B, 1
John b. 1882, 29, Blackburn. Son of Robert (b. 1852) and Margaret Ann Wilson. Line 1A-3, 1A, 1.
John b. 1854, 57, Preston. Son of James and Ellen (Dolphin). Married Mary Banks and had 10 children. Line 2B, 2.
John b. 1890, 21, Preston. Son of John (b.1854) and Mary (Banks). Looks to have married Sarah Hindle in 1917. Line 2B, 2.
John b. 1904, 7, Preston. Son of Reuben (b. 1878) and Alice (Robinson). He married Eileen Bruen in 1930. Line 2B, 2.
John b. 1873, 38, Blackburn. Son of Thomas (b. 1847) and Janet. Married firstly Dorothy Pym and had 3 children; Thomas (b. 1904), Ellen (b. 1898) and Janet (b.1895). Married secondly Ellen Taylor in 1909 and had two more children; John (b. 1909) and Frederick (b. 1912). Line 1A-3, 1A, 1.

John b. 1875, 36, Preston. Son of Thomas and Jane (Melling Wright). Married Florence Bibby in 1904. Died in 1912, the same year as his brother James Thomas. Line 1B-2, 1B, 1.
John b. 1862, 49, Preston. Son of William and Priscilla (Baxendale). Married Jane Ellen (Gregson). Line 2B, 2.
John b. 1891, 20, Preston. Son of John (b. 1862) and Mary Ellen (Gregson). He died at Ypres in 1914. Line 2B, 2.
John b. 1910, 1, Preston. Son of William (b. 1871) and Jane (Moon). I have not been able to determine whether or not he married. Line 1B-1, 1B, 1.
John Anselm b. 1879, 32, Blackburn. Son of John and Mary Elizabeth (Grundy). Married Agnes Snape in 1904. They had two surviving children John Anselm (b. 1913) and Wilfrid (b. 1908). There is also a record of a daughter Mary (b. 1904). Line 1A-3, 1A, 1. At the census he was a Branch manager for the Cooperative Society. Also living with the family was John's father in law Levi Snape, a retired cotton weaver.

John Robert b. 1900, 11, Bolton. My grandfather. Married Dorothy Pemberton in 1922. They had 2 children, Bryan and Dorothy. Line 1A-3, 1A, 1.
Jos b. 1881, 30, Preston. Son of Henry (son of Thomas and Alice Taberner) and Helen (Holiday). Unsure on marital status. Line 1B-2, 1B, 1.

Joseph b. 1910, 1, Preston. Son of Reuben (b.1878) and Alice (Robinson). He married Selina Garnett in 1936 and had 3 children. Line 2B, 2.
Joseph b. 1887, 24, Preston. Son of William (b. 1860) and Ann Shuttleworth. He looks to have married Ann Moss in 1913 and they had 2 children; Joseph (b. 1914) and Josephine (b. 1928) (not fully certain on this) . Line 2B, 2.
Joseph b. 1872, 39, Preston. Son of James and Mary Ann (Crompton). Married Ellen Graham in 1892. They had eight children; Mary (b .1893), Elizabeth (b. 1894), Agnes (b.1897), William (b. 1900), Winifred (b.1904), James (b. 1909), and twins Jessie and Theresa (b. 1910). Line 2A, 2. He was a Bottler according to the census and they lived at 132 Norris Street, Preston. Daughters Mary, Elizabeth, and Agnes were listed as Cotton Weavers in Mills, Mary in Blackburn, the other two in Preston.
Richard Herbert b. 1881, 30, Flyde. He was the son of Thomas and Julia (Rabbitt). Married Jane Morris in 1903. They had 4 children; Arthur (b. 1903, d. 1903), Thomas (b. 1904), Alice Morris (b. 1906), and Bernard (b. 1913, d. 1913). Line 1A-3, 1A, 1.
Ralph b. 1834, 77, Preston. Son of James and Margaret Bamber. He died in 1915. Line 2A.
Ralph b. 1868, 43, Preston. Son of Ralph and Ann Helme. Line 2A.
Reginald Henry b. 1910,1, Flyde. Son of Henry (b. 1885) and Elizabeth Alice Eastham. Line 1B-1, 1B, 1.
Reuben b. 1878, 33, Preston. Son of John and Mary (Banks). Married to Alice Robinson. They had 4 children prior to the census; Ellen (b.1906), John (b.1904), Joseph (b.1910), and Mary Winnifred (b. 1909), and 3 after; Alice (b. 1913, d. 1913), Robert Gerrard (b. 1914), and Alice (b. 1920). John married Eileen Bruen in 1930, Joseph married Selina Garnett in 1936, and Robert Gerrard married Margaret Wareing in 1946. Line 2B, 2.
Robert b. 1852, 59, Blackburn. Son of John and Mary (Bradley). Married Margaret Ann Wilson 1877 and had 4 children. Son Robert was born in 1884 and went to Canada (before the 1911 census). Son John was born 1882 (see above). Daughter Margaret Wilson (b. 1886) married Frank William Osborne in 1920. No further info on daughter Mary (b. 1880). Line 1A-3, 1A, 1.
Robert b. 1874, 37, Liverpool. Looks to have married Margaret Ackers in 1904. Robert was the son of James (b. 1848) and Ann (Copple). No record of children. Line 1A-4, 1A, 1

At the census he and Alice were living at the home of Elizabeth and Joseph Kenrick (brother and sister), aunt and uncle of Alice. Thomas was listed as a Butcher and they lived at 42 Boundary Lane West Derby Lane, Liverpool.

Thomas b. 1905, 6, Flyde. Son of Richard Herbert and Jane (Morris). Looks to have married Jane Hunt in 1930 and had 2 daughters. Line 1A-3, 1A, 1.
Thomas b. 1904, 7, Blackburn. Son of John (b. 1873) and Dorothy (Pym). John was the son of Thomas (b. 1847) and Janet. Line 1A-3, 1A, 1.
